Virus and scam cleanup

Pop-ups, fake warnings, ransom notes, browsers hijacked, "Microsoft" called you.

If someone called you

If a caller said they were from Microsoft, Amazon, your bank, or “tech support” and you let them connect to your computer: turn the computer off now and change the password on your email and bank from a different device. Then call me. I check what they left behind and lock the doors they opened.

What cleanup means here

I remove the bad software, undo the changes to your browser and startup, update Windows and your programs, and confirm the machine is clean with more than one scanner. Your files and your programs stay. If the machine is too far gone, I back your files up and reinstall Windows fresh, then put your files back.

After

You leave with a short list: what happened, what I removed, and the two or three habits that keep it from happening again. No lectures.

Need virus and scam cleanup?

Tell me what the machine is doing. I reply with a price or a question, usually the same day.
